Custom Drone Cases with Optional Foam Inserts

Custom drone cases for customer-specified civilian drones, controllers and accessories can be discussed as a shell-only option, a shell with custom foam inserts, or a layout review for your equipment. Case selection and foam details are confirmed against the equipment list and the selected shell drawing.

Images illustrate case and layout options; they are not evidence of a verified fit or test result for your equipment.

Select Reference A, B or C below. In the inquiry Requirements, enter Shell only, Shell with custom foam or Layout advice needed.

Custom Drone Cases: Reference Sizes

All dimensions are listed as length × width × height. Compare the complete kit against both internal and external dimensions before selecting a reference.

Reference Internal dimensions (L × W × H, mm) External dimensions (L × W × H, mm) Lid depth (mm) Base depth (mm) Catalog configuration weight Format Foam insert
A 400 × 308 × 195 445 × 385 × 225 40 155 2.7 kg Standard PP case Optional; agreed per project
B 447 × 305 × 213 480 × 374 × 230 48 165 3.0 kg Standard PP case Optional; agreed per project
C 510 × 285 × 195 560 × 335 × 230 45 150 6.0 kg Wheeled PP case with pull handle Optional; agreed per project

These are published reference dimensions, not a confirmed fit for your equipment. Confirm the selected shell drawing, usable interior space and foam layout before ordering.

When selecting a drone hard case, allow for the wall profile, foam thickness, lid clearance and access to each item. The stated internal envelope does not represent the finished foam compartment size.

Listed weights refer to catalog configurations. Empty-shell, completed-case and packed-shipment weights are confirmed separately for the quoted configuration.

Choose Your Shell and Insert Scope

Select Reference A, B or C in the inquiry table, then enter one of these preferences in the existing Requirements text:

  • Shell only: Request the reference shell without a custom insert. Confirm the included parts in the quotation.
  • Shell with custom foam: Request an insert based on your equipment list and agreed material specification.
  • Layout advice needed: Send equipment details for review of the proposed shell and compartment arrangement.

Information Needed for a Case Layout

You can start with photographs and basic dimensions, then add details during the layout review. For each item, provide:

  • model, revision and quantity;
  • length, width, height and weight;
  • projecting connectors and fragile or no-pressure areas;
  • areas that can support the load;
  • finger clearance and the intended removal direction;
  • lid-space requirements and removable accessories;
  • whether the request is for a shell only, custom foam or layout review.

Foam and Fit Confirmation

Confirm the proposed foam material, density or hardness, thickness, number of layers, bonding method, cutout arrangement and equipment-removal method. If you need EVA, include it as an option in the inquiry; EVA is not assigned as the default material for every order.

Company or project markings can be included in your request. Provide artwork, size and placement for review.

Project Review, Samples & Batch Orders

Define whether your request covers a shell only, a shell with custom foam, or layout advice. The quotation identifies the selected reference shell, any agreed insert, markings and supplied accessories.

For a custom insert, use the equipment and material requirements above to agree the following stages:

  1. Review the proposed configuration: Check the shell, compartment layout, support areas, equipment access and foam specification against your equipment list.
  2. Agree the quotation scope: Identify the supplied items and any layout, setup, sampling, marking or packaging charges.
  3. Define sample or fit checks: If required, confirm sample availability, who supplies the equipment for checking, the acceptance criteria and how revisions will be handled.
  4. Approve the batch specification: Agree the shell, layout revision, insert material, markings, packing and commercial terms before proceeding with the batch order.

For repeat orders of a drone storage case, reference the approved specification and identify any equipment or layout changes. Current availability, pricing and scheduling require confirmation for each order.

Frequently Asked Questions

What information is needed for a custom foam layout?

Provide the model and revision of each item, its length, width, height and weight, the quantity to be packed, and photos showing protruding connectors or fragile areas. Mark any areas that must not carry pressure and the clearance needed to lift each item out. The selected case drawing and the proposed layout must be reviewed before fit is confirmed.

How do I choose a drone carrying case?

Compare the largest item and the complete equipment set with all three internal dimensions, then check external-size limits. Leave room for foam, closure and access rather than selecting on one dimension alone.

Does the case include drone equipment?

No. The quotation identifies the supplied shell, any agreed insert and markings. Controllers, payloads and tools are packing references and are not included.

Request a Case Layout and Quote

Select Reference A, B or C and state your shell or insert preference. Include your equipment details, sample and batch quantities, destination and required arrival date. If the listed shells do not suit your equipment, submit the required dimensions for review.

Send your equipment list and layout requirements, use the Drone parts RFQ checklist, or plan a sample request and acceptance review. You can also view your Inquiry List.
